Been told by a Grimsby fan (nothing more) that a deal for this Bogle bloke has been done and will be announced tomorrow. He reckons Reading are favourites after Forest pulled out. Just thinking about us letting Payne go today thats all....2+2=5???
Grimsby have rejected bids over £1m as they value him at £2m+. Reckon we were interested but only at "gamble" price. Which to us is a lot less than £2m whereas to reading and QPR they'll take that gamble.
Listening to Hecky's interview, I'm certain we've a forward lined up with us letting Payne out on loan. he was bemoaning the lack of numbers, so I can't see him sanctioning a loan without at least one body coming in.
Hope we're not after him. Anything over 500k is a huge gamble on a league 2 striker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If grimsby value any of their players at £2M, and clubs are taking this seriously, then football has really pissed on it's chips. 'Kin barking.
Forest were favourites but have pulled out? I thought they were totally skint their wage bill is about 30million. Suprised they even considered a move for him.
I think I would prefer Ollie Watkins from Exeter shows a lot of good skills , and is at a good age for us.
More like if a league 2 team can command fees of 2m the prices we get for good quality championship players is even more humiliating
I think the fact our players had 6 months left on their contract had something to do with it. We got 700k plus add ons for a want away striker who forced a move. And got over 6 million plus sell on fees for a young prospect and conor. We got same for conor as forest got for lansbury.... how much do you think we should have got?? 15 million for conor and 10million for bree?
No problem with the stupid money filtering down to the lower leagues. They should hold out for the best price and spend it wisely.
Depends on the payment terms. A million up front is a gamble, but you can reduce that by sell ons, performance related payments etc.
Charlie wyke at carlise hasn't got a bad goalscoring record apparently bradford have triggerd a 250k buy out clause. Maybe we could steal him still only 24. Whoever the club picks I'm sure they have done their homework on them and have been watching for sometime. Before we signed them robo, angus, josh scowern, conor, Andy yiadom weren't big names but they all have proved themselves at this level
He's already been sold... Somebody best tell the exeter fans cause as of 18.16 tonight, they don't seem to know , wouldn't mind him myself
As decent a signing as I'm sure he would be, I think he's out of our price range (which shows the potential value we could get for players if we get them tied down, if Grimsby can do it...). We seem to need to nip in and grab a player about to shine, rather than one who has been shining for a season and a half and therefore alerted the clubs swimming in money.
