    It says that people in Cardiff spend 97% of their income on bills. So a bloke living alone on a grand a month would spend £970 on bills leaving him with £30 a month to spend on everything else?</p>

    How much of it was the credit card bill that they used to pay for meals, holidays, ebay, petrol, etc etc etc

    if thats the case I spend 97% of my outgoings on bills as well, as I only spend about £10 a week cash.

    I was going to say the same thing - it includes the credit card bill which is probably mainly used to buy luxuries.
