a lot of teams play their second string players and lose. It degrades the competition and these upsets then upset the fans. Looks as though the second string is not quite up to the job. New players not able to gel as a team and Carlisle playing their guts out. Can some of these lads step up. .?? If they can't then championship teams will kick their arses. Onto the real football and next championship game
We tried a different keeper, who to me looked much better than Radlinger The full backs were coming back from injury, but they were the two who I expected to start the season. I wouldn't call them second string. Halme is second string. Unfortunately, he's our only back up at centre half. It would be difficult to over emphasise just how out of his depth he was. Woodrow, Wilks (shocking performance), McGeehan and Andersen have played every game. Thiam and Chaplin have played some part in every game. Although Chaplin looks every bit the player who has failed to cement a place in both a League 1 and a League 2 side. Styles will be playing Saturday because we don't have any other choice. Diaby would have played had it been a league game, ahead of the hapless Halme. Probably Cavare too as Williams went down with cramp second half, so he's not fully fit, although he did create our best chance of the game. I would think Bahre too. Maybe Thomas? To be honest, it wasn't that different to a first 11. We were comprehensively outplayed by a League 2 team. In every department.
Sorry - messed up last post Collins much better? had kittens at some points with him. 5 of these won't b playing so that many players is a bit off a first team. Two of back four have played little first team football - nowhere near match fitness. We could have done with Cavare's strength on that far side
