Can,t remember in my 51 years of watching Barnsley if any ex player is hated as much as him . I cannot think of any we have probably grumbled at the odd few but he is the only one I can recall despised by most Barnsley fans
Ever since i've been on this board i've called him overated as a player for his multiple relegations and been had a go at for that view. Then the incident that nearly killed our player happened and he's easily the most hated now. Players can leave us but only one has nearly killed someone.
I know this will be controversial, but I totally Disagree. He never looked to get away from Barnsley, only when we went into admin we had to let him go. Always gave 100% and was a popular captain, if too headstrong. Always overcommitted type of player & got sent off plenty for us. In truth the ref & league should have stamped down on his truly awful challenge & it would have been forgotten about. The people I hate are Nigel Farage, George Osborne & all the Fecking bankers who have screwed us all over. Let's get things in context.
Well anything to do with Sheffield United usually is bad. Like the girlfriend of Ched Evans still standing by him...... https://twitter.com/Natasha_xxxxxx
Well anything to do with Sheffield United usually is bad. Like the girlfriend of Ched Evans still standing by him...... https://twitter.com/Natasha_xxxxxx I like to read the Guardian, not the Fecking Sun, Mirror, etc U do what the **** you want, but not all Barnsley fans are tabloid readers. I love it when we beat Sheff U, Weds, & Leeds (where I've lived for 25 years due to work). However if you can't appreciate the Yorkshire element that we can actually see at the end of the match, when Peterbro went down & both teams stood still. Respect is mutual.
Or perhaps he jumped ship instead of fighting for a club that had nurtured him, and then escaped punishment from what anyone else would have been charged with, ar least section 18 wounding under the offences against the person act, and sy police were complicit in the offence. ..

Look. It makes no difference to me what our fans think about him. Everyone's entitled to say what they like. If you want to point to a player like Mido, Greenwood, etc, who never broke sweat in a Barnsley shirt & a man who played his heart out in every match feel free pal. I just question how many matches you have been to?
sorry, message board so slow.... not defending morgan, but can't think of a moment when he didn't give 100% in a barnsley shirt. given he was a young lad at the time, if a few more had made the effort we wouldn't have gone down
Me every home match i can make since 1965, baring appearances for my county AND country at MY chosen sport. ..
I hate everything about the Chris Morgan 'thing'. I hate the fact Morgan made a horrific challenge on Hume, I hate the fact that he went largely unpunished, I hate the fact that Sheff Utd acted the way they did and I hate the dismissive attitude that came from the FA. But I also hate the fact that a local lad, possibly the foremost academy graduate to play for us in the last 15 years (in terms of longevity), is now such a hate figure. I totally understand the hate he provokes, but I still find it a bit sad that we're still utterly vilifying him. This may be controversial and I'm not in any way taking away from the seriousness of what Hume went through, but I hope we can soon move on from the 'hate' towards Morgan.
Sorry but can't go along with that judgement whatsoever, Colin may be irritable granted but he's not hated, or shouldn't be tbh I've seen a lot of favourable posts on here for him. He always talks Barnsley up and wasn't a bad winger in his time for us
I personally think he gave 100% every game in a reds shirt, but what he did to Ian Hulme was assault. But the FA Got it wrong and he should have got a massive ban, plus also suspect he got told to keep is trap shut by the board of sheff u
Neil Warnock is well respected by most level headed Barnsley fans, he was also a good servant to this club as a player.
Colin is one of Warnock's nicknames. But as I say a Lt on here have a Lt of time for him but am aware a lot still havn't
