...Much as I think the twitter to Daley regarding "letting down his late father" was bang out of order, I am struggling to think what law he has actually broken. He has not sworn or threatened Daley and if he had made those comments to his face it would have been tasteless and rude but I cannot see how/on what grounds the police can arrest him.

Any ideas? Whilst this is clearly the downside of social networking and the guys behaviour is appalling (although I think he reflected on it and apologised before his account was suspended) it is something we, unfortunately, have to live with - anything else threatens our much cherished freedom of speech.

I think it was the other tweet where he threatened to kill him that was the main one mate. That's not really being reported, strangely.

Saw it yesterday but there's loads of mentions of it on Twitter. I'm guessing like because the original tweet was cnutish but not illegal. Sample of one of his tweets here, not to Daley but gives you an idea:

    Malicious Communications Act

Think it falls squarely into that. Think his punishment should be to make him dive off the ten metre board whilst twittering. (and with no water in the pool)

I often wonder if people forget what www means.

I love a good debate/argument but some people really need putting down. I think some of players past and present were truly ***** and stealing a living but I'd never go onto their twitter site and say such a thing.

I remember the young lass who did that awful "Friday" song, people were posting on her twitter page and on youtube saying she get an eating disorder and start cutting herself. Someone must have serious issues to say this about a thirteen year old lass whose biggest crime is to bring out a crap pop song. Jesus Christ.

    Re: Malicious Communications Act

When it came to light last night on Sky News, I logged on twitter and looked at the lads profile. He was making endless threats, some racist, to several people.
Apparently not the first time he's done it and he's got a couple of videos on You Tube which will make it very interesting to the Police if they see them!

Very strange though. One minute he is saying sorry, then goes off on one. Then he's sorry again.

Imagine what's going to happen when the police discover the comments section on YouTube

I too had a little look on his twitter last night when I heard it kick off and he was getting quite racist and abusive. After losing my mum in March, I've gotta give Daley respect for not rising to it. If it had been me I'd have ended up being arrested for hunting the **** down

The pr1ck wants a good hiding, on what grounds he thinks he is being clever is a mystery. We spend more time as a nation moaning about foreigners flooding our country it's shits like this that want packing off to a remote island and drowning!

Top respect to Daley for ignoring his taunts, hopefully the lad gets his just deserves soon

his parents should have paid more attention to him when he was young. Either that or he's mentally disturbed. Either way not the actions of balanced well brought up young lad.
