Some may agree with me & many won't but ... my wife and I were despairing as to what to do with our postal votes. Neither us felt that, whilst we like many of the policies put forward in the Labour manifesto including one that would financially benefit us -( my wife was a born mid 1954 and if Labour delivered on their promise to WASPIs she would get the maximum compensation of around £30k) we believe that that, and many of the changes proposed, are unaffordable and would cause huge damage to the UK economy. That view may or may not be correct but that is not the point of this post. We certainly don't trust Boris Johnson to live up to his word. That totally rules him and the Cons out. So.... the choice for those two parties are one relatively sincere MP with honourable intent but unrealistic solutions and another one whose proposals are more realistic but cannot be trusted with the truth or delivery. That leave the others in which we, are faced Lib Dems with an inexperienced and contradictory leader with one real policy or the rest that are also pretty much one policy parties. That left the option of not voting, which we believe is an insult to all those men and women before us who fought so hard to get the vote or spoiling the ballot paper. Thank God then, that we saw a candidate for the 'Yorkshire Party' " on the Postal ballot. representing Yorkshire interests. Yes I know in Barnsley Central it is a wasted vote and TBF we don't know an awful lot about the candidate or their policies but the little we saw we quite liked. No idea where they stand on Brexit and, frankly don't care, although I know they stood against May's 'deal'. They do, however, seem more focused on domestic/regional change. For us, as a protest vote against all the main parties it is a) better than not voting at all and b) it may at least save the candidate his deposit. I am not posting this in any way to to try to persuade any one else to do the same (as if that would work!!!) but just pointing out it works for us!
each to their own. you've written quite a large piece on why you cant vote for any of the above ,then settled on a vote for someone you openly admit you dont know (in comparison) anything about, least of all your beloved brexit. strange times. no one needs to justify their vote however, maybe to their own conscience it seems this year but thats probably for another topic
