Channel 5 et al have disappeared already, so thought the changes had happened early and I'd be able to retune now. Done the retune but hasn't made a difference. Too early or is it just me that the retune hasn't worked for?

Why we got to do it? And does anything have to be done to virgin tv either?

Hiya m8, it's because of the big switch over from analogue after today. If you don't retune, you will lose some of the channels you already receive. Done the Evesham this morning. Not sure how it may affect Virgin tho bud.

Ah cool. I'd heard summat about it but didn't know the reason why. I've just done my Evesham too. I didn't think Yorkshire was til 2010 tho?

theyre basically moving channels around on freeview to free up a bit of space for HD and such in the future. The switch to digital next year or year after will be unrelated really. It doesn't affect cable or sky because they use a totally seperate system and I believe they move their channels around and your box automatically sorts it out rather than you having to do anything manually. not 100% sure though

My freeview box no longer works

Did the retune earlier, been to uni, got back and now the freeview box has no picture, the sound went shortly after. Dunno if this has owt to do with this ere retune, but ive fiddled about with all the wires n got no joy.

I see, no idea then. Just got told today that 'old freeview boxes will need replacing'. Can't pick up the new channels etc.
