Good run out for the lads against superior opposition.
1. McIndoe looked much more useful than shukes.
2. Togwell looked quiet to me
3. Healy looked worth a contract with a careful medical / contract conditions
4. If any of you ming mongs including richtea think we can do without a decent striker with some instinct around the net then you are deluded in extremis. Now get out and get one...end of. YN I concur on this issue.
5. Centre half required.
6, Had Hayes scored with that fancy flick it would have been a beauty but it was the only time he threatened goal. He did have a decent shooting opportunity but opted for the sideways pass.

Hayes didn't play upfront though.. He played central midfield. We would have been over-run playing 2 upfront because Rochemback and Boateng were too good. We do definitely need a striker, but Hayes wasn't likely to get in many shooting positions from there. Richards should definitely have scored at least once. Also, I think Togwell is always going to look reasonably quiet, because his job is to break up play and play it simple. He did his job very well first half IMHO. Mcindoe was definitely excellent, very impressed with him.
1: Yep 2: Think Togwell / Howard can work well together. 3: Much bewtter thanm at Bradford where he had an "I'm better thaan this lot so why should I bother" attitude. Last night he had something to play for and it showed. 4: Yep 5: Yep, but Kay came through a good test pretty well for me. He's still learning but he'll get there 6: Didn't he have his customary misses on an open goal as well? All in all, I have to say the summer signings looked ok, including Coulson when he came on, and I reckon we're only a couple of experienced players short of a team that can go into the new season with some optimism.
