I've never ever heard a manager complain about having to play Saturday and then Tuesday before. Never. We play Saturday then Tuesday all the time. Have done for as long as I've been watching football. All clubs do. Why do the players suddenly need an extra days rest for this one game against Colchester? They've never needed it before. If they did, why don't we move all our Saturday games to Friday night when we have another match on the Tuesday? It's the wankest ******* argument I've ever heard and the next person I hear using it is going to get a beating.
I don't see why its such a big deal that its being moved because it'll probably lower our away following for the match from 30 to 20. The number of people kicking up a fuss about it when they wouldn't have gone anyway is the bit that interests me. Just seems like another excuse to have a good whinge.
At the risk of being beaten up I would add that it gives players an extra day to recover from any niggles they might have picked up in the previous game.
For me, I just don't see it as a big deal. I don't think theres a lot of people that would have been going - I don't think theres a lot of people who now won't go. Some people who couldn't go on Saturday due to other commitments will now go because its on Friday night. I'm in the position where I wasn't going to go either way, so obviously I'm not in the same boat. And I appreciate the position of the people who wanted to go but now can't. But I still stand by that most people on here whinging about it weren't going to go anyway. Plus....theres the extra day's rest....
i'd have gone on the Saturday, but f*** friday, be struggling anyway with work - time off etc. and i can think of at least 3 other people that now won't be goin. I think the decision is ***** and spot on Jay
