I've scanned the thread titles, jesus wept. I'm not reading owt else. I'm logging off. We were no better than the opposition today who deserved a draw I reckon. They should never have got it, mind. But Hammill refused to keep the ball and tried summat silly, they then scored from the goal kick. Not directly like. That'd be summat. It wasn't great or ideal but we're in with a chance. I'd have took 20th position if offered it, in November or whenever it was. So aye. Chance of securing a playoff place in a one-off game? I'll tek that. Thanks to those who spent the day with me, great company, nice one. And those of you who bought a magazine off me. In the rain. Tidy. A few things got to me today, but I get threats if I'm seen mentioning them online. Hope their keeper is ok. Great save from Robbo's header. Bullet header, superb stop. They played some lovely stuff Colchester but the defence was their to be got at. And we failed to get at it enough, same routines throughout. We look a bit stale at times. Been some journey though, maybe they're knackered? Hope they've got summat left in the tank for next weekend. I expect all three sides chasing sixth, to lose. Which will be good enough. You Reds etc.
Thank you whitey for this post along with the many other common sense posts. I am looking on from UAE in disgust at some of the utter dross that has been posted. I don't give two monkeys cusses that I've not been to the game, and generally don't, it doesn't take a regular attending fan to realise that what we've achieved is incredible and should not be marred by one result.
Nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade, and today we weren't good. In my opinion. A few lads weren't at it, but nobody really had what I'd deem a shocker. But the lad voted player of the year made a huge error (and got cheered for it....) and up the other end Colchester went and equalised with little resistance. Bizarre. But as I say, deserved. Because we weren't good. I'll leave others to slate lads all night, question their bravery or commitment to the cause. Faceless, nameless internet warriors. Same folk every time. Not my job to police the forum, but I think we can do without posts like this, in what is now a massive week ahead of us. If you can't get behind the lads, after everything this season, then I'm baffled. If you can't, then maybe stay away from Wigan or this forum because I'm sick of reading such ********.
Our fans at the business end have become all Wednesday. We're not Billy big ******, we have to earn everything we get. If we don't make it, then **** me we've given it a hell of a go. Some need to give it a ******* rest.
One game to make the play offs? I'd have taken it in September, November, March...I'll take it now. You reds.
Played well did Colchester. Went abit Peterborough at 1-0 up but apart from that they played alright. George Moncur could have had an hat trick on another day even before he opened the scoring. Had a good season in a poor team. No way will he be there next season.
Agreed, we weren't good today and have looked a bit off it for the last 3 games or so. Hammill made a balls up for sure, but the lad also had pretty much a free header in the middle of the box, which seemed strange. Never mind, on to Wigan and let's hope they can summon up one more massive effort. The frustration of the fans is very understandable though after such a gut wrenching last gasp equaliser...
He's scored 13 goals this season from midfield in the second worst side in the league. I'd say that's better than everyone in our squad apart from Winnall and Hourihane. In his position he's obviously more of a goal threat than Scowen, Brownhill, Isgrove and many others we've had during the season play midfield. 22 and only going to get better. Not that he'd come up north though. Probably sign in the summer for someone like a Reading, Bristol City etc.
Quite the opposite from me. I didn't think we'd made it, that's why I didn't want us resting on our laurels and thinking it was job done at 2-1 because it very certainly wasnt. All season our strongest performances have come when we have taken the game to someone, whenever we have looked afraid and tried to protect what we have we have looked poor. Even if it had worked and we had managed a 2-1 win there was no thought given to the goal difference and I'd argue it is those who were happy to sit back who were billy big ****** thinking enough had been done when we may be begging for an extra goal in the gd next week
Hopefully Hecky and the team will have learned something from that last 15 minutes , we went Spackman big time, Hillcroft in their darkest hours and it cost us
Hopefully Hecky and the team dont read some of the boloxs on this forum, and I pray that Pat Cryne has realised that the views on here are not a true representation of the majority of BFC fans, full of drama queens mainly.
whats this internet warriors rubbish, arent fans allowed to say that was poor today ? i think we were unlucky and yes it has also been an amazing season.. but lets not kid ourselves, they were under par today in possibly the biggest home game of the season. step forward heckie, and take your share of the blame here.
For every 'internet warrier' there were 50 in the stands booing and saying exactly the same thing. I've just read the Colchester report on their website. One line says it all really. "The fourth official signalled seven minutes of injury time, with the U’s down to ten men and with an outfield player in goal." We didn't throw the game away because we were poor or tired (although we were poor), we threw it away because we bottled it and showed an embarrassingly negative attitude against a side second bottom of the league down to 10 men with an outfield player in goal. **** tiredness or being 'jaded' it was all about character and attitude and a lot of people showed their true attitude today. Be that heckingbottom and weight or the players themselves. One thing is certain, the fans didn't ask for or like that cowardly style of football so we shouldn't be blamed when we go off on one after witnessing it
To put it in perspective it was 15 minutes out of an unbelievable run of results that started in December , using terms like cowardly and lack of character is over the top . They thought they'd won it and totally switched off , we've seen it before but we are still in it and all to play for , with the Scunny result we were always going to need something at Wigan anyway
very rare i agree with you Whitey but this post is spot on mate, i was disappointed at the final whistle but its been the most rollercoaster emotional season i can ever remember, if we dont get play offs then we can look back and say if we beat so n so or if we had done this or that, i prefer the end to the season we have compared to the one we could have had based on november so all the doom n gloomers stfu and get behind the team they looked mentally and physically knackered yesterday hopefully we can complete mission impossible next sunday gonna be a rollercoaster 90 mins sheff united will want to go out with a win and sharp is the key probably and cant see gillingham getting anything against millwall so 1 point is enough but also another scenario ALL 3 lose we are still in the playoffs zone #COYR
