Wonder how much the haters had in Butterfields decision to go rather than stick around another season.

Have it on good authority he failed a medical at Newcastle then was talked into staying.

I think i was the first to day he was off to Norwich last week. A very good contact tells me he's beeb looking on here.

All i can say is good luck Butts, and go show then what you can do.

If he's that thin skinned then he's got problems.

No influence whatsoever. Money is the main reason he's gone coupled with playing at a higher level.

What is and isn't said on here bears no relevance at all.

Dunno, he knew that there was a chance of a better move at the end of the season.

Can only hope it didn't as all i know is where a good team with him playing in a red shirt.

This is just a sounding board used by the good, the bad and the ugly to air their views and everything gets taken with a pinch of salt or should do, although some good ideas are often recycled by others for the clubs benefit.

Whilst a lot of fans use this forum regularly and take it's contents seriously, I know an awful lot who never ever use the forum or have even seen it. So going by that, I would doubt a professional footballer who appears to have bags of confidence would be influenced by what a relatively small number of fans have to say on here. That said, if he did ever have a gander, I doubt he was overly impressed with the many negative comments. But surely not enough to influence him.

Then you need your bumps feeling at!

If a footballer gets titty lip on after reading what a handful of loons on an internet forum post, then he is clearly not in a fit state of mind to be allowed out onto the pitch. I find it ludicrous that anyone could entertain such an idea!
Yet I think that some on here take great delight in portraying other fans to be less of a true fan than they are!!!

If he does read it he would know that the overwhelming majority of people wanted him to stay ,it just a shame he chose Norwich ,nice city but deluded supporters

If you where looking for a new club, and you had a look on here in the build up to having talks with Hilly and saw what negative ****** most on here came out with, then look on Huddersfields forum and the fact most there fans are willing to give a player a chance and have a bit of optimisum for the coming season then its a no brainer, and lets remember we're talking about 21 year olds here,

Good point about the Hudds forum. Players do read forums.

Hill even has mentioned this site a few times.

I would hope it had no influence. Worrying if it has.

Huddersfield fans are no different to Barnsley fans or any other fans for that matter.

If a player . . . or manager . . . reads and takes in or gets offended from what some tit(s) are writing on some internet site, they seriously need to consider their career.

Even if he does read this board, which I don't think he does, and even if it did influence him, which I definitely don't think it does, there's always been a lot of support for Jacob on here. Not from everyone, but every footballer splits opinions, and there's always been plenty of people giving a positive view, particularly this season when he was offered the new contract.

I agree with most of the replies -- I don't think Butterfield would be influenced by anything he may have read on here - in fact there was a lot of support for him.
Being in the public eye inevitably means that there will be opposing views about a players abilities.
Butterfield was not one of my favourites - we can manage without him and I wish him well in Norwich.
