Parkinson was sacked as boss on Monday after five months in charge, prompting 47-year-old Brown's promotion. </p> And even though he was sacked at Derby after seven months, City say he will be considered for the permanent job. </p> Colin Murphy, who was Parkinson's assistant, has now reverted to his previous role with the club's centre of excellence and will also assist Brown. </p> "Phil will be part of the recruitment and assessment process in finding a new manager," read a club statement. </p> "Phil will be in charge for our visit to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, and for the length of time required to undergo the full recruitment process. </p> "That procedure is now under way." </p> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="208" align="right" border="0"><tbody><tr><td style="width: 5px"></td><td class="sibStdQuote"><div><div class="mva">The objective is to stay in the Championship and we've got a 20-game mini-series now to get points on the board </div></div><div class="mva"><div class="mva">Phil Brown</div></div></td></tr></tbody></table></p> With Hull currently five points adrift of safety in the Championship, Brown is aware that he is in the perfect position to underline his credentials as Parkinson's permanent successor. </p> Earlier in the week, Brown, who joined the club as first-team coach in October, said: "I do want to return to management but unfortunately not in these circumstances." </p> However, he added: "The objective is to stay in the Championship and we've got a 20-game mini-series now to get points on the board. It would be an opportunity for any man in or out of football to be able to come to a great football club. </p> "There's no doubt about it, from what I've seen of this football club so far, the set-up is fantastic and geared towards certainly Championship football, if not higher." </p> </p></font></td></tr></tbody></table>
RE: This from the Hull BBC page from a few weeks back - Swap Brown for Davey Brown had been first team coach at Bolton for years and had a short spell at Derby. Vastly more experienced than SD
RE: Brown to be made permanent later today He has managed derby and served under Sam Allardyce at Bolton. He is a bigger manager than the one we have appointed
RE: Apart from my completely ***** analogy ... They probably will think like that, but compared to the appointment weve made its like setting on Jose Morihno.
