http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3_l993dtMA&feature=related Two sides full of sunderland fans. Fans in the Eaststand being gently 'escorted' out into the away end. Battling all in town. The game feeling like an away game. So the club does it again for the Wolves game. *****.
Sunderland fans sold out one and a half stands and still ended up in the home ends. If we only give Wolves the north stand there's a huge chance that many supporters will buy for the home ends anyway.
That day was quality. That daft Sunderland fan soon fecked off out of the East Lower when 25 Barnsleys fans ran at him
Wolves fans should get 3000 tickets and stuck right in the gods of the north stand. The three sides should be £10 a ticket for home fans. All ticket. There is way and means to prevent sales to wolves fans. Im fed up to the back teeth of teams and fans coming to Barnsley and seeing it as a soft touch. Coming to Oakwell is about as hostile as walking round frigging Beamish museum. the last time there was a red hot hostile atmosphere from the start was the cup game V chelsea. The town was loud, the ground was loud. They didnt want it. it as like the 'old days'
hmmm... let me see ... 4,000 x £20 = £80,000, so i take that will be your contribution to club finances then ?
and also bear in mind that in the same season we also gave over a large proportion of the ground to Birmingham and beat them.
Can't turn down the cash as you would be unlikely to sell out the other three sidea even at £10.

"So the club does it again for the Wolves game" Says who, nothing on ours on Wolves website saying 8000 tickets available now!
Agreed, as a club we seem to bend over backwards and do 'more' than enough to accomodate large away follwings. We should reduce prices and get 3 sides of Oakwell packed with home support.
Yes but they will do it, they always do it i hate to see it. Especially when it's Wednesday who we are playing and almost half the ground is Blue & White.
It's not always about the money. And in the same season we gave the same to Washday and Derby. And lost both. Barnsley used to have one of the most vocal die hard crowds and a reputation of a rough house unwelcoming northern **** hole. Last home game of the season, a thank you from the club would be lapped up. Even as far as to go £5 a ticket. Fill the ground with RED not frigging gold. People who wanted to bring their kids, first timers etc to the last home game for hopefully a party atmosphere cos we're safe will not as they know about the reputation of Wolves fans and know the town centre will be crawling with them and not bother with the game. Its B*ll*cks.
And.... half of those wont be £20 tickets, they should have the North 5,800 and thats it. Whats the point in giving them the extra 2,000 tickets on the West? is it worth it for £30,000-£40,000 think not. Staying in this division for the new TV money and getting 3 pts on that day is a lot more money.
did we sell out the away side of the West stand ? also we'll be safe by the wolves game so there won't be much in it for us....(cough...ahem)
Yes we did... because my mates got to the turnstiles and were told that all the home ends were sold out, they paid into the North Stand and sat near the East Stand corner, much to our amusement, especially when Hume scored.
Crowd was 20k so there was some room somewhere I'm not sure whether the west stand, north was empty, can't remember.

But like the leicester game having a full home following doesnt affect the outcome of the game - personally i prefer matches when theres a big away support. We could still win the game with a big away following and still go down - thats football anything can happen and usually does.
While ever Simple Simon is in charge, just where do you think all these extra Barnsley fans are going to be conjured up from? A total freebie might get a couple of hundred extra, but I think its more likely that they will only venture out if survival rests on the outcome of the game.
