not been to a pre season game, where i used to always go to a couple just to see new lads play and hopefully give me hope for forthcoming season.

Its been tough sat up here in my Quayside apartment,on lap top looking out onto the city and the river, supping beer and eating king prawns but i am grateful for peoples postings after matches and player reports. Can't wait for 11th,wish i could have seen some of action but the positive posts have done more than enough to give me confidence we won't be fighting for our lives again and Davey has bagged some real bargains.

Have been to game at Rotherham and tonight. It is almost impossible to judge what sort of a season we will have. Slightly worried that even though I could give mainly positive accounts on the new players we lacked killer instinct to finish off Rotherham and were totally outplayed tonight by a team strolling through the game. We had 1 (one) shot that produced a save and Colgan kept the score below 4 or 5 with some top draw saves.

Oh, and before I'm accused of being negative (rather than realistic) I get the feeling that if we can just get the rub of whatever luck is going in the first few games then the new guys are good enough to keep us nearer the top than the bottom!

    Signings Look Alright

Based on Morecambe and Buxton I thought they did well, but we wasn't playing anyone of note. But they played well again tonight and so no need to worry. Kozluk looked out of place, but that's fair enough with him being ill for most of the past week.

Not worried about Kozluk or Thompson as they are proven players at this level. They may have good or bad games but overall they'll do a job. Nyatanga is a great re-loanee.
Need players like Stan, Disco and Toggers to prove pretty quickly that they aren't yesterday's men.
