    Just do it, have a bit of fun. No harm in it. Yes of course it's a fad, but I've had a good laugh at all my mates doing it, and had a laugh when I did it myself yesterday. The wife has been nominated today and she's doing it tomorrow. Just do it and don't be a sad fart.

    Did it tonight. When the first bucket of water is tipped over your head it doesna half take the breath out your lungs and the second, well that was just very cold.

    I'd post my video but don't know how to do it. Got it on FB ok but can't put it on here.

    Just another experience.

    Yeah I've been nominated tonight so I'll do it tomorrow. As I said earlier it just looks like a lot of people have forgotten, or are ignoring, the whole point of the challenge which is to raise money and awareness. The fad is OK if it achieves its objective but if it just becomes people trying to out do each other on Facebook then I just wonder what the point of it is?

    The ice bucket thing is more than just a fad. Suppose the OP just donates the money and doesn't partake in the challenge, yes he will have done a good thing for a worthy cause.

    But by doing the challenge and nominating 3 others to partake, the charity is benefiting more, as more people are likely to donate. I'll be honest, had I not been nominated I probably wouldn't have given it a 2nd thought, however since my brother nominated me, I have donated and invited 4 others to do the same. It's raising awareness of something which could in the future effect the people who are partaking in the challenge. It's much much more than just the latest fad.
