If you had been sentenced to death would you rather it happen within days or hang around for 15+ years?

The longer the better I suppose; while you're still around there is still hope.

Given that fact I think I'll change my first answer and choose sooner.

Most of the people who go on should be in Rampton.

Have they shown anything about the Japanese system? Prisoners can spend 30 years or more in virtual solitary confinement, and only find out about their execution a few hours before. Needless to say, many of them go mad. A far worse punishment than being executed.

The guy who killed a mother and 5 year old daughter by slitting their throats is on Death Row......he's got/earned a pet cat !!!

Also watched it last week and another guy on Death Row has diabetes and is getting insulin injections everyday.......until his final poison injection......what a waste of money?

Good eye-opener TV.......and well presented by Sir Trevor McDonald.

Very eye opening to say the least. Credit to Trevor McDonald, who was ballsy enough to go up to a double murderer and ask the questions we were all thinking.

Its strange as you listen to some of them in there and think, he seems like a level headed decent bloke, so what on earth went wrong for them to be spending 170 years in prison.

It does all seem very comfortable living to say its the prison where all the murderers and rapists go. Even the 'best trusted' prisoners who cut others hair are double murderers.
