This is a bit of a long shot, but...

I need MS-DOS audio drivers for a Sony Vaio PCG-FX103 laptop on which I've installed DOS 6.22 upgrade (a long story, but the serious step back in technology is justified!) - the audio adapter on the machine is a SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (leastways, that's what it said in device manager before I wiped the hard-drive).

SoundMax don't support MS-DOS drivers and the Sony site doesn't have any, neither...

Does anyone know of any available drivers? Generic DOS sound drivers, perhaps? With configuration instructions (for the Config and Autoexec files)? Come to think of it, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Thanks in advance!

As long as you don't need it quickly.....

I haven't got rid of any system files since 1993, but most of the oldest are on floppy disk and this PC doesn't have a floppy drive, so I can't look for it until I get some time on a PC with an FDD. If I can find one I'll let you know.

This is an even longer shot, but at home somewhere, (possibly under the bed or maybe in the understairs cupboard behind a tin of emulsion) I have a megadrive cartridge for a game known as Speedball. IT doesn't have a box or instructions

    Will that do?

The tin of emulsion you mention is quite tempting...

Do you actually have a Mega Drive to go with the cartridge? Screw it, I'll take both - how much?

No megadrive, I traded up to a PSP. You can have the other stuff for nothing, if you collect.

I'll leave them on the doorstep tonight, next to the betaware catalogue with my order for that bathplug that doesn't fit any bath.

    Cheers, mate...

You're like an online Aladdin's Cave. I've got some big plans for that emulsion...

    Not a problem...

I just like having paint cans, bulging bin liners and stacks of old newspapers kicking about the house and the front and back gardens. What with my issues about shaving and personal hygiene and an inability to speak coherently, it adds an edge to my personality that, I believe, girls find attractive. My neighbours, especially, find it particularly endearing…

From what I can gather from the various Jay-related postings on here I fear I may be a bit too up-market for him...

    Alas...
