He's said that before, that it's over. I think he's left it in a way that it's fine if it's the end, but also scope for another series. Whatever, it's a terrific piece of work, not a bad series or episode in it. But then, he did make Dead Mans Shoes, my favourite film so I do think he's the dogs ******** like.
God will forgive them and allow them into heaven. I can't live with that. It's a work of art that film, and Paddy's about as good an actor out there.
It's a good un. Paddy is proper menacing in it, you'd not want to get on the wrong side of him as that character.
Paddy Considine is indeed phenomenal in that film, but in my opinion Toby Kebble is even better. To play someone with learning difficulties that convincingly, and without making it look like a parody must be incredibly difficult.
I can't disagree mate. He's also a fantastic actor, as are the majority of the TIE cast, especially Michael Socha, Stephen Graham, Joe Gilgun and Vicky McClure. Meadows knows talent, and he knows how to direct. He's not done a film though for years, maybe now TIE is finished, he'll get back to films, and hopefully, get back to working with Paddy.
Dead Mans Shoes is a great film and I love This Is England, the last series was superb as were the ones before
SPOILER WARNING!!! Combo's ending made no sense, getting snatched by a gang of blacks in revenge for his racist attack but then handing him over to a couple of white guys in a warehouse, who were they? That's where it lost me. Tried to put in spoilers but not working :frown:
I believe the white guys were his old NF "colleagues" sorting out one of their own, but not sure why the big black guys would just hand him over to a couple of racists...
What evidence was there that the two guys were racists? Quite normal for Milky to have black and white friends all equally ready to sort Combo out for what he did to their mate. There were plenty of white people on the ANL and RAR marches back in the day.
I was convinced that he had learning difficulties, then to see him out of character was a real eye opener. Truly great acting.
Me too mate! When the film first came out he was pretty much unheard of, and I assumed exactly the same!
I bet the proper reason for that scene is political correctness, they couldn't show black people doing someone in.
