I'm just gob smacked by the politicians on both sides only now realising that there is a gulf in racial divide in the uk, but I assume that this is the case of the camel with the head in the sand and it's better to ignore than to admit. Even way back in the 60's and 70's this was the case, so where exactly have these polititions been hiding ? Are they really in true contact with reality or are they just riding the gravy train? Because this is surely not new news to most of us except of course from the likes of DusThaNollll who appears to have severe mental problems.
Not quite sure what you're saying mate. There are and always have been racists in the UK, there are parts of the country like ghettos and others where people of all races live together in peace. As ever it's a mixed bag. In all probability the politicians don't much go to the bad areas and tend to live in the better ones, what do you expect them to see? Besides which, these days most politicians are "career" politicians and will do or say almost anything to get elected. Waste of space the lot of them.
Not everywhere is racially divided. Remember the late Batley and Spen MP, she was very much involved in her constituency work when she was brutally murdered by a right-wing scumbag. What's a politition anyway? Perhaps you ought to stay in the racially sound place that is Dubai. Are there only 2 sides to politics then?
"This is not a racial thread" used in exactly the same way as "I'm not a racist but" in in any case I don't understand your post. There are many divisions in the U.K. Based on wealth, race, religion Employment status whe you live ... amongst other things. Any one with any brains can see that but I don't see where you are going with this. By the way what does " a gulf in racial divide" mean I genuinely don't understand
I'm just gob smacked by the politicians on both sides only now realising that there is a gulf in racial divide in the uk, Dubai Tyke could you please provide evidence of this statement which you make. From personal experience here in Dundee there is very little if any at all racial divides. Everyone here seem to get along just fine. To me its wild and unfactual statements like what you have just posted that is the problem.
Would strongly disagree with that comment as far as Liverpool is concerned - always been a multicultural city - there have been incidents such as riots in Toxteth but groups tend to treat each other with respect. Worked in school where 26 languages were spoken and it wasn't an issue.
Until very recently I quite happily lived in a majority Asian area, and everyone seemed to get along fine. Of course there were places where people of different cultures tended to gather (white people and some Indians in pubs, Muslims in barber shops or dessert/shisha places) but in my experience the vast majority of racists tend to come from more racially homogenous areas. Once you start actually meeting people from different backgrounds you tend to start treating them as actual people rather than dehumanised representatives of a demographic.
My dear Tarntyke I agree that there are many places not racially divided in the Uk and this is what should be the norm but we and the politicians must be realistic and agree that there are many more places that are racially divided in the UK and this is not a new thing that just emerged, its been like that for decades and will most probably stay that way for decades to come. My point was why only now has this become news headlines? It's like it's just been found out. That's bizarre in my mind. I'm not in Dubai any more but in defense of Dubai it's not unlike most ex-pat places in the world, Indians, Phillipinos, Pakistanis, British, Germans, French, Dutch, Scots, Irish, Americans and the rest all go there for a chance to save money, it's not about race there so I don't get your reference to Dubai at all.
there is no such thing as Racism .... its just another word for fear... and its man the wise who has brought this to this beautiful planet. Its a case of if we do not understand it then play safe and destroy it. The biggest pollution on this planet is ourselves Homo Sapien. Until Mother earth is purged of this cancer then she will die.... but I am betting on the power of her to rid this wonderful planet of the human scourge. And the sooner the better.
Re: there is no such thing as Racism .... The fear is not understanding, respecting and accepting other cultures, until we all do that there will always be racists and bigots in this world.
Interesting how in your list of nationalities you have British and also Scots. I thought it was only me on this board who thinks Scots are not British.
Re: there is no such thing as Racism .... Quite agree, we are a plague; we exploit nature and destroy it in the process, we kill and exploit other members of our species and other species. We pay little regard to the earth that produced us and we carelessly dispose of our mountains of rubbish. Any enlightened intelligent aliens who come here will see us for what we are and wipe us out.
