Absolutely tremendous performance tonight. They work so hard for each other it's unreal, epitomised by Isgrove. The two centre backs have incredible potential.

The high pressing game we play can make look decent teams look average and that's what happened tonight.

    Superb.

    Proud to be a red.

    You Reds!!

Certainly better than the team that beat Swansea in the play off final...only Hassell and Howard would make this team...Disco on the bench.

Agreed. Walsall were 3-0 down in a two-legged game, where even 1 consolation goal would given them half a chance in the second leg. They were forced to prat around with the ball at the back because of the way we pressed them. Then, inevitably, eventually, one of them was going to have to hoof it. Whereupon Roberts or Mawson would batter all obstacles out of the way and head it clear. Repeat ad nauseam........

You're forgetting the team that had Darren Barnard, Bruce Dyer, Craig Hignett, Neil Shipperley, Chris Morgan, John Curtis, Nicky Eaden in it.

    That was some team.

I would say that the team I saw under Bassett was the best.

This team has more desire, heart and ability to come from behind than any team I have watched in the last 40 years.

This with great big brass bells on, I've never seen a Barnsley team more capable and determined to fight back.

hard to know how it compares with some of our championship sides who were playing at a higher level. Hopefully we will find out next season. Definitely the best 3rd tier team we had since 1981

The development of the team has been staggering. For a couple of months earlier in the season we had the worst team I'd ever seen at Oakwell. Then Hammill came we changed formations the players got more experience and we got some better players in. We are now fantastic better than the sum of our parts. Young lads playing for each other and playing for the town. Brilliant.

McPhail would walk into this team or any other we have had since. Great player.
