I got to the ground at about 2.30 pm and chose to sit (laughingly) in the top right hand corner of the stand. At that point the area was populated by a few ordinary, sensible fans, some with young kids, and the whole area looked set for a decent view. Then all of a sudden, and I don't know why they chose that particular section, the rush started. It was a mixture of nice decent looking kids, say 15/16 year olds, through scabby pissheads, tattooed, off their heads, all trying to get along the gangways between the seats, but obviously not bothered about finding a seat for themselves. It was endless ! Where they all came from lord knows and where they thought they were going .... I was on the back row and I ended up with them standing behind me in a gap about a foot wide. And they kept on coming..... there was not enough space for everybody, and there were no stewards that I could see trying to sort the mess out. This was still the first half of the game and some of them decided that it was a great idea, because they were standing up all the time, to kick the hell out of the seats. I saw several oiks, some very young, wrecking the seats and looking as if they were enjoying the thrill. Maybe they'd let me go into their homes, assuming they live in homes, and destroy their furniture. At half time I'd had enough so went to stand at the back of the gangway where the other problems were happening... people complaining that they couldn't find anywhere to sit, whilst at the same time the end section of the stand was cordoned off and empty. But that's another story. The unreserved seating decision did not work, all it allowed for was a mad rush to fill a space it was not meant for. If **** attracts flies then it certainly did so on Saturday. BFC are going to have to look into this problem, because that is what it is, and ensure that reserved seating at away grounds is adhered to. I think however that I'd be right in assuming that these brainless wonders will not be at Orient tonight. Over to you......
They won't be at Orient, as saturday was about the "ale" not the football for the majority of the pond life who were there to have a "great day art". I'm with you on their behaviour - I won't however accept the unreserved seating argument or the poor stewarding ( although it was piss poor) the problem is the dickheads who get the rest of us a bad name. When I complained to the stewards about not being able to walk up the gangway just before half-time I was told there was "nothing" they could do and that I should "have a word with YOUR fans" - I pointed out that coming from Barnsley was all I had in common with them. Great result shame about the minority who follow Barnsley as they are absolute scum and lets not even go there with the IRA chant - at least we didn't get the usual "town full of p@ki's" chant - maybe there is a small chance of evolution.
They say in life their are only two certainties, death & taxes, well being a Barnsley fan you should be aware of a third, the barnsley bellends sit in the top right hand corner, doesn't matter where we play, Doncaster, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Oldham, Ponty End, they sit in the top right hand corner, making all the noise, as they do at every ground we visit they always sit in that top right corner of the stand we are given, the aforementioned clubs are always big turnouts so it ends up with them in gangways and packed in , normally like tonight it won't be a problem, but when we take a good following that top right is always problamatic, I just stay away if possible, I know it shouldn't be like that but it is so just try and stay away from that area if possible
No pal at Leeds they can't even see home fans from that corner but that's where they are, it's always top right corner, at Northampton port vale and Oldham the stand to right is empty but their in that top right corner
Although there is no doubt knob headness in all walks ita quitw common knowledge that the rear right of a stand is where you go away from if you are pissed/lairy/wanting to stand and shout why do people who dont want to be party to that environment continue to sit there?
two goes at it... http://bbs.barnsleyfc.org.uk/showth...gusting-behaviour-today&p=1653934#post1653934
I don't think all of our idiot fans were off there heads on 'ale' Not unless they've started importing in from Columbia in powder form!
What was the "IRA" chant? As for "BFC are going to have to look into this problem, because that is what it is, and ensure that reserved seating at away grounds is adhered to. " - wasn't that Oldham's decision?
I don't get why "tattooed" is in the original post, isn't that a tad stereotypical? I've seen far more bellends at football without tattoos than with them
Does seem odd he'd start two threads about the same thing. We are the Millwall of League One. Not good.
I think I'll start a 3rd thread... about the silly little fans purporting to support Barnsley. It seems to get you going. Watch this space.
