I feel that Cryne and the club have ultimately conducted themselves very well over the Johnson tenure and have done the right thing in granting him permission to speak with Bristol. Let's get shut of him quickly as possible and now move on. Our club is far far bigger than Lee Johnson will ever be. So to the future: - Having given it lots of thought I hope the club decide to go with Hecky and Burton as joint managers for the rest of the season, with Bobby and Disco supporting them on first team duties. - This will then allow BFC to employ other ex Reds in to the Academy and U21 staff to get us in to a culture of people who love (or at least have an affinity) with the club. - We can then use the Wembley money, the LJ compensation and the Stones money (in the summer) to allow Cryne to recover some of his money whilst making us a financially competitive club in this division and see some balanced investment in experienced first team players whilst bringing through our own youth. - If it doesn't show promise then it can be reviewed at the end of the season. Seeing the above would make me more optimistic than I've felt in years, at both the direction of the club, the culture, and finally having something to identify with.
