as soon as we were drawn out away at Swansea, I'd written the League Cup off, as much as it can bring a few extra quid in, its a non competition these days, played in front of mostly empty stadia and a chance for Prem teams to give their reserves a run out. When I saw the first 4 league games, I thought 3 defeats and then hopefully a win against Bristol at home. So for me Sat is a big game, and all will be forgotten if we do manage a win. I can see that our injury list is crippling, the we've good Championship standard players in the treatment room, and I can see some sense in what Hill and Flitcroft are trying to do in the transfer market and with what resources they can tease out of the 'board'. But did I read it right that we made Wiseman captain tonight? Weak, narrowbacked, headless chicken Scott 'Cant Defend' Wiseman? Fuc,king madness. If Hill gets fired for nothing else but that, it'll be deserved.
I don't want Keith sacked, cos I honestly believe he will eventually get it right. But he is worrying my ass off with the Wiseman is god, bobby is ***** attitude, and ability to sign every midfielder in the country, but not sorting out much defence wise. This will eventually get the fans on the wrong side and its something I don't want to happen, but feel its going to be inevitable.
Scott Wiseman is like Kevin Donovan but with even less heart and our manager made him captain tonight. Worried is not the word.
Re: Scott Wiseman is like Kevin Donovan but with even less heart I deliberately avoided the "Captain" part, as I am probably just hoping he had a mad rush before kick off. But, if this is a sign of things to come. F.Me. In our Young 'uns 1st season too.
Re: Scott Wiseman is like Kevin Donovan but with even less heart It's not physically possible to have less heart that Kevin Donovan.
agree mate just wondering if we have had a manager who as produced such poor results and goals against and keep his job. I am preety sure any other football club any any league would not have stood for this
Well this is where I'm at. I finally, and very reluctantly, accept that we are unable to compete at Championship level. Unfortunately, now more than ever, the professional game is about money. It has always been a key differentiator - now it's the key differentiator. So I'm not going to let it upset or frustrate me any more, and Keith can say it as often as he likes - because I think he's right. Money gets you quality players and we simply don't have enough of either commodity. Notwithstanding the comments about Wiseman, which I largely agree with, sacking Hill would serve absolutely no purpose, other than incur further expense that the club can't afford.
Well I don't know that we have, but such a statement is meaningless without knowing how much it would cost to get someone significantly better. Keith keeps saying he's shopping at Netto (or words to that effect).
Good post SM. I really like Hill too and I think he'll get it right, eventually. I just hope that the Hassell and Wiseman issue he seems to have isn't his downfall. Come on Keef, open your eyes.
I dont know what to be more peed off with... Somebody has had a go at a wonderful player like Kevin thingy, ohh yes he was called Donovan I think. And somebody has had a go at Netto. How dare you
My arithmetic's pretty good actually. You could clearly do with brushing up your punctuation however. But just out of interest, and if you do actually know what the players are earning, do you think it represents value for money? Who do you think he could have signed for that level of wage that would represent better value? Or are you just far more comfortable spewing up meaningless drivel?
