Who's been sent down for the vicious attack on a Bulgarian waiter sounds like a right mess.
The other lad who did has admitted it but is refusing to travel to Bulgaria because he feels he won't get a fair trial.

What a mess. Lets hope it gets sorted out, the poor sod.

According to the news the lad who admitted it failed to fax his admission to the court so they continued with the trial of the innocent one.

    How is that justice?

That confession wouldn't be valid in an English court either btw

    From the other man?

    Why not?

Is it because it was unsigned? That's fair enough but at least stop the trial until further investigations are made

No idea, not a criminal lawyer, but there are plenty of safeguards in UK re confession evidence after various miscarriages of justice.

    Aye, but

The fact that someone else did it sort of brings all the evidence that helped convict this innocent lad into question.

    Innocent lad?

Or a concocted plan to agree to take the rap from a safe distance, to get someone off the hook and remain fireproof yourself?

the fact that they've managed to jail an innocent man just because the one who did it did'nt get his admission in on time would lend weight to that argument.
