But I reckon we should go for Alan Smith on loan for a month when he's anywhere near okay. At first it sounds ridiculous, however... 1) It's in Man Utd's interests to get him fit and may not ask us to pay wages. 2) Premiership clubs cannot loan anyone until January... But the main point is that Alan and Andy Ritchie get on extremely well and keep in touch. The first person to text Smithy when he got injured v Liverpool was Andy and Alan was extremely grateful and recently passed on a thankyou message via a member of the media. So why not?!
