If Jason Scotland scores tomorrow, he'll be the first ever reds player to score in his first 4 reds appearances. He joins Freddie Fisher (1933) and Derek Bell (1978) as the only players to score in their first 3 appearances. Despite calls for Scotland to start, the Trinidad international claims, "if its not broken, why try to fix it. Daggers and Marlon have been doing well without scoring, but i'm enjoying coming off the bench to add the goals". Reds players desperate for survival after witnessing MK Dons and Doncaster's bore draw the other night. The players also had 'classroom sessions' to discuss what they got out of the game at the Keepmoat as Flicker says "some players learn from seeing, some from feeling and some from a book". Flicker says the club aren't "victims" anymore, and getting the players out of this mentality has contributed to our recent run of form. Barnsley FC hope that John Stones' recent £3million move to Everton will influence other young players to stay and develop with the reds, although the club feel that this could be the last big money move one of our young players gets as new rules mean the club could lose young players for peanuts in the future. Under the new rules, Everton would have only had to pay £24,000 for Stones as the paying club only has to pay £3,000 for every year the player has played for their club. Darren Gough thinks Barnsley will beat MK Dons tomorrow, despite watching the Dons on a regular basis. He says because of work commitments, he can't get back up here as much as possible, hence the reason he watches his local side. Reuben Noble Lazarus signs new deal until 2015. Flicker says patience is needed, as he gradually build Reuben up to play regular 'mens football' in an outstanding league. Flicker once again sings the praises of Kelvin Etuhu saying he's happy that he didn't bring in someone to replace Dawson. Ronnie Branson hopes some reds fans may make the trip to Staines tonight to see the reds academy take on Chelsea, before making the short journey to Milton Keynes tomorrow. Mark Robins appointed Huddersfield manager, which would set up a final day showdown between Robins and his former club. Scott Golbourne says the next 3 games are crucial. He says the're all 6 pointers (and various other cliché's) and that only 3 teams need to finish below us, so we must make sure we win the next 3 league games. Flicker says every game is like a cup tie. He says he's a proud Englishman when it comes to the FA Cup and the tradition of it, and the incentive of getting to the semi's at Wembley is a big one, but he isn't looking past the 5th round at the moment. Quick Edit: Simon Davey is doing the quarter final draw live on ITV on sunday 5:55pm
Cheers for all that... good read! on the John Stones point , the club won't have to sell him for 24k if we turn the offer down. We can sell him for what we want if he's under contract! and there will be a few London Tykes at Staines tonight i believe.
Cheers, thats saved me 75p. Would you mind typing up the front page and the obituary? Thanks in advance.
Surely if our young uns, like stones, have signed a professional contract we can get a true market value transfer fee for them?
Yes Clint did score in his first three games - including 2 at Man City. Went to that game - Clint got winner in the last minute - sweet!!!
I was at Maine road, too. And the Hudders game which was on Sky and will always be remembered for Tom Cowan's 'goal' for them....
Yeah the throw in that bounced over Watson - got some mysterious touch on the way. Got that on tape somewhere
Clint didn't score in his first three games, we beat Reading in the third game of the season 3-0, he failed to score then. City was the fourth game.
He didn't play in the Reading game. But his second game for Barnsley was against Rochdale in the Coca-Cola cup. He didn't score in that. Came on as sub in the second leg too and didn't score in that.
He did, but the Man City game was the 4th league game, we beat Reading 3-0 at home between the Huddersfield and Man City games, and Clint didn't score in that. Just had a check on soccerbase.
He didn't play against Reading. I remember that game, the attendance was sub 8,000, and Stumpy scored, and Liddell I think. But he did play in the cup against Dale so ignore me. Still, he scored in his first 3 league games. I wasn't far off.
