Especially now we have the UTD game that will more than cover that cost. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mansfield ask for more again now it’s deadline day and if the player isn’t looking to force the move.
I know that. I'm literally just pointing out that we accepted a lower bid than we originally wanted. Not increased it like Mansfield have done.
"He added: “It’s disappointing. He’s had a change of mind through personal circumstances. Once I get my head around it, the fact of the matter is I want players who want to be at the football club." Another case of Clarke being careless and, in my opinion, lacking class in his communication. Personal circumstances are simply personal & the comment about him not wanting to be at our club uncalled for. Similar thing with Styles, where the aside about his head not being right was nothing more than an invitation for the haters to stick the boot in. In my opinion, Collins was better in these situations, with 100% focus on the squad he had available to him & not commenting on such matters out of his hands. Clarke just needs to crack on with the job, managing the players we've got.
I disagree. I think it’s good communication. He’s not unveiled the players personal circumstances. Simply provided an sweeping explanation to the fans who are currently very emotional towards the club.
Hope we buy a striker. We get nearly a million from gate at old trafford spend it on a striker. Simple mathmatics. Say tickets 30 quid x 78000 about 2.3 mill. We get 40% i believe as do ManUre so would get about 930,000
I think there will be expenses regarding the costs of hosting the event to be taken into consideration first. Should still be a tidy unexpected sum though.
Re the Styles one I disagree what's he supposed to do I assume old Callum came to him and said in some way I don't want to play. He publicly said clean slate everyone so if he had come with the right attitude as in I want to leave but I will give my all until I do Clarke would have been fine with that. Styles does the opposite Clarke does press pre Mansfield what's he supposed to say other than a injury that we know is BS, been right and showing integrity is two way street surely.
Hi SD. I don't have a view on DC yet, since he's only just getting started - as I suggested, his job is getting the most out of our players. I'm critical of his communication over Styles & the failed signing, feeling Collins was better on such matters. In terms of a better way, Brentford's manager is a worthy role model, but appreciate & respect that some folks feel they need to know more. To me, this is what Clarke could learn from: https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/2...ank-confirms-toney-will-not-play-southampton/ "“I can say I’m very happy to speak about the players who played last night (against Colchester) or the players who will play tomorrow. “Ivan is training well, and in good spirits, and I’m happy to (answer) more questions about Ivan the next time we are sitting here.”
