As the day has gone on, I've begun to feel more positive.

Danny hasn't done a good job this time round. We've been shocking for a year, and with the players we have this year we should have been playing better.
Yes we have lost Williams, Winnall and Cole (Our main outlet earlier this season - Kiwomya's failure to replace him has been a major blow to Wilsons chances), but the style of football is something that the manager can try to dictate. It's been boring from day 1.
Any other manager wouldn't have gained this sort of outcry. I like Wilson and wish him well, but the cold hard facts suggest he deserved it.

Now, on to 'the plan'. We have played a lot of youngsters at various points this season, and many have shown glimpses of quality. Combine these with experience at the back and danger men such as Winnall, Hourihane and Lalkovic and we've got a decent base to build on. I'd like to see Smith and Holgate continue as our full backs for the rest of the season and for the years to come.

Provided the new manager buys in to the youth policy and idea of a long-term vision then he has got a great headstart towards success. There's even a chance that they could rejuvenate players that seemed destined to be failures - Lita, Jennings, Bailey.

What we don't need is someone to scrap the team and start again. Need to stick with what we've got, for the most part.

Sticking to the 'plan' is crucial. Pretty much the only thing that will keep me going is it we appoint someone with a good track record in player spotting and developing his own players. We also need to state publicly that this is a long term plan and that we will give the new person a minimum of 3 years to achieve our aims and that we won't make any knee jerk reactions even if they get us relegated. Other than that I suspect crowds next year will dip to Donny levels of 5-6000

Agree with most of that, we do need to stick with most of what we,ve got and are already doing. that's why it's important that whoever comes in, they will inspire and rejuvenate the whole squad. Perhaps we may see a different Jennings for example.

I'm not sure we've made it to square one.
