    Not offside until you touch the ball or interfere with play. That sounds like its going to confuse everyone

    Indeed.

    They should change it back to how it was before , offside position and you are offside.

    Surely if you are actively playing then the opposition will have to take account as to your position on the field and adjust to suit. This means that you are always involved in play and cannot be inactive.
