Not expecting us, or many clubs in League 1 to do much business. Says we are waiting for the loan window to open!!!!
Not unexpected, haven't heard the right noises from him concerning transfers. Will be delighted if he does the right thing but don't hold your breath
I've not read it, but I wouldn't believe it too much. For one, it's The Sun. Also, unless we plan on signing 2/3 of the current loanees on permanent deals, then we've got no room for more loans.
He also said recently, I think on Player on Friday if I'm not mistaken, that they are only looking at permenant signings right now and he would hope he could get 2-3 more in. Whether he does or can remains to be seen. I would rather take what I see and hear from LJ than The Sun, renowned for its accuracy of reporting.
This place will combust with this. LJ interview in The Sun regarding deadline... We'd have to sign at least two of our current loanees (ideally Pearson being one) before we can go back into the loan market. Personally I think that's what will happen. Sign Pearson and maybe Townsend and get some good loans in. Fine by me.
Re: This place will combust with this. LJ interview in The Sun regarding deadline... That would be a good move and send Wilkinson back?
Doubt he's given an exclusive interview to The Sun. It'll be pieced together from the pre and post match interviews he's given to the press this week. As far as what's been said about our transfer policy this summer you could splice an interview together to say almost anything - we need a dozen new signings, only three players, no more players, we'll be fine, we're still looking to recruit, we're happy with the squad, no loan players, more loan players, fewer loan players, more strikers, we're fine up front, another left back, we're Ok in defence - it just depends what time of day it is.
And could have been from any manager in the Div who have all said similar at some point in the last few weeks.
without being a sensationalist like the OP. I believe he was generalising and stating that lower league clubs rely on the loan system once the higher league clubs have bought and finalised their own squads he believes its a good system that allows younger players the chance to learn. he wasn't specific however about BFC dipping into the loan market again next week.
One thing is for sure, it will all change when the emergency loan window is axed next season. You can then only loan players long term, either half a season or full season.
Am I wrong or have the club officially backtracked on the statement made a while ago about not going down the loan route ? Absolute Madness this loan policy were enforcing. The Holgate money should not prop up loans, it should be invested in PERMANENT additions so we can try and develope a team to propel us out of this league.
We got told lots of thing over the years Mario but some of it, not all,was Bulls@it. Just let's address our weaknesses and bring 2 permanent recruits in. Even 3 but I suspect it will be a big fat 0
