Barry Conlon. Why do we do it every season. There always seems to be one targeted player, be it Nicky Eaden, Brendan O Connell, Martin Bullock etc etc. I fail to see what Bazza has done to warrant this. He had a good couple of chances and, whilst not being as effective in the air, plays some good stuff on the ground. He, as someone rightly mentioned earlier, is only a few games into his comeback and has sat on the bench for the first few. Why do we always have to belittle and make players feel as though they aren't fit to be on the field? I was upset at the reaction that both Conlon and Shuker got when Conlon was replaced and Shuker awarded the MOTM. I am amazed why some people bother to go to the match at all when they just sit and whinge. Personally, I thought we did well against a physical side and an abysmal referee. The signs are encouraging and that is what we should be looking to do, not just slag off players for making mistakes. Cheers bfc(banghead)
I'm a BBB fan but he needs to get his arse in gear that was a game for the taking today and baz had the best chances, you would have thought with Nads being injured he would have grabed this chance,he may just have missed it.
Several 1/2 chances fell to Barry when tiredness was obviously setting in against a very strong physical side. FOr a team that has started very well, the Reds made Brentford look very ordinary
I thought we were excellent today, we ripped them apart in spells and they couldnt get out of their own half at one point!
I like the cut of your jib sir Agree 100% . There are going to be occasions this season when we record a comfortable victory without reaching the heights of today's performance .
I have to agree - I have always been a Conlon fan and have defended him against his critics on here many times - but today I had to agree with much of the criticism he has had to endure in the past as he had a very poor game. I hope it was a one off and that he can get back to the form he showed befor he was injured.
Aha Spill the beans young sir . By the way , as I know you'll be interested , the young blonde women who sits in front of me was totally covered up today !(doh)
targeted because whilst he had a good start to the game, he completely fell apart and should have been taken off, but Ritchie left him on to get even worse.
RE: Aha I don't know any more than that, or if we want to sell him, but 2 clubs have declared an interest in Conlon. A separate rumour I heard which was just from supporters, was that we want to raise money to sign Rossi on loan. Personally I think it's unlikely Man Utd'll let him go, but we can hope!
Yeah but, my grouse is about..... the reaction from the crowd to whenever he made a mistake and when he was brought off. If I was him I would be severely p'd off by that, or am I being naiive because people have paid their £20 they can say and act how they like? I'm sure Conlon will be his own worst critic about the way some of his touches etc didn't come off. Cheers Chris
