    just a Barnsley issue?

    instilled mentally into the club?

    Caused by pressure from fans?

    January transfer window?

    Or we have just been rubbish?

    I recall Sheff Utd being the opposite under Bassett.They were always dreadful in the first part of the season and always picked up in the second.Bassett once said they should have there Christmas party in August to see if that would help.

    I'd have thought it was a lot easier to motivate your team first half of the season than the second half but I suppose it depends on-

    if you had decent players to start with then replace these with average players

    or if you start with average and replace with decent

    I think it's because the rest of the league know that Barnsley football club will routinely drop it's trousers, bend over and take one up the chuff every January.

    IMO its the January transfer window, we just can't compete financially at that point in the season
