I know a young women who was caught throwing a tab on the floor last week and she was issued a summons without any warning. She is expecting a £75/£100 fine. She is a law abiding person but a split second lapse is going to cost her. This week I've been into town everyday and the amount of people discarding Greggs wrappers and carrier bags on the floor is amazing. Then we've got smackheads walking round town of there faces and intimidating people.I think the powers that be have got there priorities all wrong.

She deserves the fine, she wants to concentrate on what shes done wrong rather than moaning about someone else. They should all get done aswell thought but maybe some of them have been fined before.

Discarded food from takeaways is more of a health hazard than a tab end.

    good

Ever since I can remember my mum taught me that ANY littering was against the law and wrong. She never once said 'except smokers who have the right to do whatever they want and then complain when somebody points out that they broke the law'.

    Smoking wardens..

I think the money could be better spent elsewhere, tbh, infact why not give smoking wardens a brush to sweep up the rubbish,or is that too easy... or is it because cleaning the streets dosn't includeenough admin, accounts, method, health and safty procedure, league tables and statsect for office types working at the council officers to deal with...It can't be to do with keeping the place clean thats for sure. One road sweeper up our road in twenty years, thats how much they want to keep the place clean. The canals and rivers are full of rubbish like shopping trolleys, these blockculverts which causes flooding, have they cleared them out..... have they ****.not in years.

Did you know you could get a 1k fine for not displaying a no-smoking sign in a public place.weird I thought it was against the law to smoke in a public place, why should you get a fine for not constantly reminding someoneof somethingillegal.(dunno) what a strange place this country is turning into.

Repression and oppression and all the fees.

I'd rather die on my feet , than livelife on my knees.

    they'll take away your dreams,

    they'll take away your draw,

    then take away your music,

and replace it with the law.

That's nothing to do with the smoking ban

Just thought I'd point that out.
