Yes we batted badly in that First Test and deserved to lose, but since then all the pitches have been flatter than a witch's tit and it's duller than dishwater. Nothing in the pitch for the bowlers, defensive negative cricket from the West Indies. Then that lobbing pie style bowling in this game in our innings. These sort of games and tactics will kill Test cricket. Oh and the inept umpiring. Yes England are *****, but let's have a game where it ends in 5 days. West Indies don't deserve to win the series in my opinion after the negative way they've played. Why they're so scared of this poor England side I've no idea. If Flintoff isn't fully fit and firing for the Ashes we haven't a prayer.
Of course journo, that's what home teams do. The problem in England is that the grounds men only seem to care about winning the groundsman of the year award and not helping there county or most importantly England.
It's just not cricket I'd be furious if i'd paid good money to go over there and watch that or indeed if it was like that over here. Nothing wrong with the odd score of 500 and some good batting, but when all 3 Tests after the first have been like this it's boring. I love cricket but I'd find it hard convincing anyone to pay and watch it based on this.
I wouldn't be furious With a rum in hand, and watching those dancing girls, I'd be disgruntled but nothing more
Just read a good comment in the TMS inbox Some guy gave up on this match after three tedious days and hopped across to Tobago for a bit of beach loving and pina colada sipping. Bit better than bailing out of Old Trafford and popping across to Blackpool I suppose
Referal system is garbage as well Even with the technology they can'tv decide on some of the descisions and they still get some of them wrong
RE: True, The Windies won't have expected to win the series, but England's capitulation in the very first match gave them every chance, as long as they could avoid finishing any other match. Mission accomplished, with the unexpected help of 1 abandoned test. In the end England simply weren't good enough to break them down. You can't expect "lesser" teams to come out & play attractive cricket when they might get hammered... not unlike when the Reds have to break down 2 defensive banks of 4 and can't (zzz)
And I also agree... Although Englands selection policy in this series has been woeful.
The sooner we get a coach that knows wtf is happening the better. This was one of Englands easiest series in years and what a pigs ear has been made.
As an aside whoever thought it was a good idea to pick Amjad Khan wants birching.

The solution... Krazy Kricket A bit like crazy golf, they'd put windmills, bridges, walls and other obstacles down the wicket to give the batsmen something to think about. Lots of big flashing lights and maybe a jackpot and multiball feature... it's the future, I've seen it.
