I suppose it might be too much to expect....

    ....our fans to join in?

Losing a child must be a terrible thing, especially after the hope there must have been before the birth.

If they do it at Oakwell, I for one, will stand and applaud.

And if I'm on my own, so be it.

You won't be on your own, I think it's something we ALL should be doing.

I don't see how it's relevant to us, or the world of football really. It's a personal matter for a player and his family.

But I certainly hope our fans behave if a tribute does go ahead. It'll be embarrassing enough with all the scab chants...

Sad though it is, stuff like what happened to Billy Sharpe happens to hundreds of 'joe public' every day. Think it's a bit 'Princess Diana syndrome' to be showing public outpouring of recognition / sympathy because the person it happened to is a footballer or celebrity.

    Pikey's views on it.

Personally its nothing to do with football and its a private matter that should be dealt with privately and through his charity. I don't also like these tributes that happen whilst the games playing, should be done before KO.

I'm with you on that. It's a terrible tragedy for the family, and if it was just after the event I would join in. But a years anniversary....so this will take place every year now will it. And what about other players who have lost children, or siblings, or parents etc.

My brother lost a child a few years ago to leukemia, I don't applaud him every year though!

If this takes place I will respect it but not join in.
