I was thinking about this last night, and it's starting to bother me. They put rules in place a few years ago to prevent discriminatory pricing taking place where clubs couldn't charge two different prices for equivalent seats to home and away fans. The FSF and Supporters Club/Trust are very keen on this and we've used it in the past to get discounted tickets when the home team have offers for their own fans (eg Leicester and Watford in recent years). It concerns me now that we (and presumably other clubs) are using a discount scheme to effectively get around these rules. If this becomes the norm then we're basically back at square one with regard to paying inflated prices at away games. I go to away games as well as home games. I don't want to be financially penalised by other clubs to attend them, but it's hard to argue against it when BFC openly exploit away fans in this way. I'm even more uncomfortable that this appears to have the backing of the Trust, who will now no longer have a leg to stand on when other clubs rip us off via their own pricing 'loopholes'. Thoughts?
Agree to be honest but what's good for the goose and all that. I remember being annoyed when Blackpool were doing it a few years ago and now everyone's at it.
I agree with every word I think its just plain wrong the price you pay to watch a football match should be the same no matter where you come from to watch it. - I can just about live with not being given special offers like when a home club does a special one off game - but to deliberately put in a pricing structure solely designed to penalise away fans is just wrong in my view Our also has the brilliant knock on effect of penalising part time home supporters who just want to turn up on the day a few times a year
