I'm failing miserably & have to pass an exam before 5pm with a minimum of 75% or I shall get a warning from my new job.

Anyone got any advice on concentration?

Turn the Internet off. Get showered and dressed as if you are going to work to get in a work mindset - thats what I have to do. Make sure you're sitting at a proper desk (dining room table, whatever) - not working with your books/laptop on your knee sitting on a comfy chair in the living room.

But think you can have as many Tea Breaks as you want and have one ear cocked at the television. After a lifetime of working from 'offices' its nice to be at home so called 'working' :D :D :D :D

    Some more tips...

Make sure your office at home is comfortable to work at, but remove anything you like or have an interest in, including links to this forum!

    Set break/lunch times in advance.

Go for a short walk outside before starting work to help start your metabolism.

Get up from your desk and walk around the house/garden every hour or so, otherwise you'll become less productive.

Contact your colleagues/boss a few times each day, so that you don't go stir crazy.

    Oh, and think positive!

It's a well known, and ironically clinically proven fact that working in the front room bay window stark bollock naked is the best way to focus. What the 'experts' fail to mention however is that unless you have a leather office chair its usually best to rake off ones winnits before sitting down.

If I can help with anything else - let me know.
