...if it wasn't so serious. How can anyone seriously think they are still going to get this funding? http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news...ver-the-future-of-european-millions-1-7982120
Makes you wonder why council members weren't out there campaigning and explaining the catastrophic consequences of exit.
Agreed. I feel that the local councillors have been seriously negligent. My ONLY direct cntact from anybody on the remain side came via a leaflet from labour this Wednesday. I'd already voted by postal vote...
I suspect most the council members voted leave and wouldn't have had the foresight to imagine even the possibility of this happening.
Strange how the areas most funded by the EU wanted to leave it. I suspect in the banking crisis a lot of people fell for the lie that it was foreigners not bankers to blame and are confusing a hatred of the political elite in the UK with a hatred of the political elite in general. In terms of regional funding I would be pretty surprised if there was any money to replace EU grants. At most a token £20. Million. At the end of the day you get what you ask for.
That's what I suspect aswell - needless to say the Councillors in Barnsley won't have had the brains to realise that.
