He should have been toold that we play in red cos he never gave the ball to a Red shirt all afternoon
well im afraid i said mattis wasnt good enough b4 he even tryed to kick a ball and guess what it proved me right today w**k w**k w**k
Ronnie Glavin was ****................................................ Ronnie Glavin was ****.....for the first 3-4 games he played for us . I can remember all the banter in the pubs , why have we sign this fat Scott who 's not fit.
"Don't worry Kev" said my mate Stewart (RIP) from Fife. "You have a fantastic player there just give him a bit of time.".
Well ,we all know the rest of the story and the impact Ronnie had at this club.
Mattis is certainly no Glavin but give the guy a chance to settle in for fecks sake.
He's had one game in which we lost 1 nil to a top side in the Championship after hitting both crossbar and post. We could have been talking about a 2-1 victory to the Reds with a little luck.
Today was not a disaster there are still points to be played for and this team is capable of getting them..

RE: Ronnie Glavin was ****................................................ Glavin was an international, Mattis is a player from BURY, after leaving HUDDERSFIELD on a freebie. Not a good comparison to make I dont think.
Instances of player's playing ***** in their first few games and then turning out to be gods are very few and far between I reckon. Normally, when a player plays as ***** at Mattis did today, it's because he is *****. I think that for every comparison with Glavin, about 1000 comparisons with other ***** players could be found.
In fact, I think that even Paul Gibbs had a better debut than that. That says everything you need to know.
I was well impressed with him. He got stuck in, never shirked a challenge, was always looking for the ball. What do people want?
Agreed Gary Jones - Mattis, both from lower leagues, bought because the new manager had connections with there clubs Jones from Rochdale- Parkin was his manager Mattis from Bury- Ryan Kidd was his coach dont think Mattis will be any better than Jones
Neil Shipperley was christened Shitterley after his first few games.
Redders wasn't an instant success.
Danny Wilson used to get dog's abuse.
Chopra - nuff said.
And so it goes on...
We allus know better than the professionals, don't we?

RE: Ronnie Glavin was ****................................................ Ronnie had one cap and he was still crap for his first few games.
The condition he was in when he first came to the Club had folk saying he should head back over the border and be quick ablout it.
My point is give the guy a break. It's much too early to judge.

You must have been looking for negatives in his play then because he wasn't *****. We were all impressed with him in the Ponte. He has had to make the step up after 1 training session.
Give him a break, he did well against a top of the league team who are looking to win a place in the Premiership

Ronnie Glavin top scored for Celtic before he joined us. Ahead of a guy called Kenny Dalglish. He cost £60k about 28 years ago, that might be slightly more than £50K today. Well done, yet another ridiculous comparison.
Not ridiculous at all. It has nothing to do with the players' relative ability - what he's comparing is the fans' attitude.
Which at Barnsley is continuously and consistently childish and pathetic.
And frequently wrong.

Not disagreeing about fans negativity to new players, just the relative backgounds and cost of Glavin and Mattis are not remotely comparable. One had done it at a high level before he joined us the other has not.
