    Actually Harry Tufnell (Original Barnsley legend) played far more games than the stats indicate. As did Lillycrop. Maybe the stats are not as close to the truth as people think.

    And the first link......BFC v Hudds. Forget the score and look at the attendance. 16000+ for a cold evening in November. Now those really WERE the days!

    still got the video of this one-why oh why couldn't Parkin get them to play with such commitment all season?? oh I know he was cr£p!!

    Apparently we were formed in 1887 but Oakwell has been our ground since 01 August 1886.

    Those first few months must have been interesting until the club was formed.

    Have you noticed

    How few games were drawn in that season. We only drew 3 all season. And despite us finishing 3rd and winning 16 of our 19 home matches, we lost 12 of our 19 away matches conceding 41 goals! We obviously didn't travel well.

    Then there's the whole Arsenl getting promoted *****.
