Yes everyone has the right to voice their opinion. But how the hell does that help the team?? For one we are only 2 games into the season!
I've seen us play much much worse, and towards the end of the game i thought we were worthy of at least a point with the introduction of Vaz Te.
Can't take anything away from Southampton (Apart from Chaplow's disgraceful challenge) they will be up there at the end of the season. Lallana is a quality player!
Unfortunately, one player in particular for us played absoloutley shocking!
Preece did okay, not deserving of all the abuse he gets from all the moaning supporters.

For the record, i will not take any notice of miserable moaning fans who don't attend any of the games.
Now lets rally round and get behind the team on Tuesday night!

Preece did ok? How can you excuse him from not catching a ball he had two chances to catch?

They booed becuase the team were a disgrace to our shirt, our lower league 'diamonds'

looked just that...lower league, out of their depth and not good enough....

Those players who are earning thousands a week need to know that they weren't fit to wear our shirt today and so what if the crowd booed, so they should becuase they were absolute dog shi*e.

IMHO, the booing was quite justified.

Well, after 45 minutes of the first home game to be precise.

There's been plenty of "hype" in the Chronicle and plenty of rhetoric from Mr Hill.

By the manager's own admission, the team simply "didn't turn up". We had a pitch full of players I've never heard of and it's difficult to really know what to make of it all.

After witnessing a very abject performance, I can understand why there WAS booing.

If players can take the plaudits when things are going right they should take the boo's when fans are a tad unhappy with what they have paid for in my opinion. How do you think fans should respond to a poor performance?

I agree with the point about booing. Its counterproductive and doesn't help.

However, we were abysmal today, and at times, humiliated by a Southampton side that had us chasing shadows.

Preece did not do okay. For the goal, the ball was pinging around his 6yd box and he did nothing to try and catch it. He's 6ft and can use his hands ffs, and should have shoved the players out of the way to get to the ball! That's what a keeper should do!!

Apart from added time, we didn't even worry the Southampton keeper, and that is inexcusable.

Tuesday night needs a helluva performance to restore my faith in the side.

I thought Mcnulty was at fault for the goal to be honest.

A goalkeeper should command his box. That's the first thing you learn

I can't be certain, but I reckon their goalie made more saves than ours did. As I recall, Preece made only one save of note.

Maybe so, but all the saves were in added time. Southampton were down to 10 men then. What were we doing for the first 90 minutes?

Any footballer who models himself on Louis Spence should be hounded out of the game.
