Had turned a corner but we’ve gone back to being negative again, ok we can blame it on suspensions and injuries etc but well organised teams get over these problems.Just wondered if the current board are to blame or our manager or both? this is a very Poor Division this season we need to get out of it this season.
If it’s true the board determines what system the manager plays then yes it’s the boards fault. Away from home it’s working fine, but at home when we need to be on the front foot it’s just not working, Collins needs to be given licence to change things up. Otherwise the recruitment has been shocking as well.
Don't know about 'The Board', but this Board supports him by a margin of 2:1, going by the 'Sack Collins poll' thread. A win today and the playoffs will be just about in the bag, and all this nonsense forgotten!
Do you actully think that Collins said keep playing it along the back today lads.. at home to Cambridge..? Our their experianed manager got a average bunch of players to work as a decent unit.. and our lot just ran out of ideas..?
Not sure I get your point we have played like that all season so surely that comes from negative Nelly?
I wouldn't exactly say we "support" him as such. Personally I don't think a lot of him, I just think it would be madness to replace him at this stage of the season. I think the only time I would be in favour of sacking the manager with 7 games left would be if we were heading for relegation. While there is still an excellent chance of promotion (almost certainly via the play-offs) we should aim for stability.
Not sure he had that many at the start mate. It is boring football but to be fair it's been winning football. The last time we had visually pleasing, exciting AND winning football was 2015/16 under Hecky. I was never a great admirer of Big Val's style of play but it was better than the current fare.
Just wondered what everybody’s thoughts on the Coach Jon Stead , he seems to be getting a free ride in all the criticism but surely is complicit in our very boring predicable style of play .
Yes, but not as much as Hecky's. For me, the stand-out teams in my time have been; 1 Norman Hunter 1980 to 1983 2 Danny Wilson 1996 to 1998 3 Dave Bassett 1999/2000 4 Hecky 2015/16. Hecky's achievement in that season (bottom in December, promoted in May) would be more widely recognised in the football world but for Leicester's unlikely PL win.
I’d like the players to take more responsibility. I don’t accept that they’re sent out to do a job and stick rigidly to a plan. It’s not bar football.
