He may have replaced Tom Little the fitness coach.
These guys are usually Graduate Sport Scientists.
(casualty)

We have plenty of them at the Club. The modern game has moved on and sports and exercise physiology is playing an ever increasing role in the game. When Arsene Wenger first came to Arsenal he brought with him a Sports Scientist. The ideas on things like diet they introduced made a big difference to the fitness levels of the Arsenal players. So much so that when Arsenal players were on duty with England they were told not to let on about the changes they had made. When news of this started to drift out more and more clubs with enlightened managers started to employ Sport Scientists. Without them players would be on a diet of mars bars, chips and burgers rather than the high carb diet they need. They also look after fitness and test players when required. (casualty)
Aye, that's what Spackman brought to the club too. I'm sure it's great for the players in the long run but in the short term they have to have a vague idea of what they're supposed to be doing on the pitch.
RE: "when Arsenal players were on duty with England" No but he did have English players in his side then.

RE: Aye, that's what Spackman brought to the club too. I'm sure Ah, my other stalkers back.
Well funnily enough Spackman did.
But he had a lot of resistance from the players who were out on the piss every other night and didn't give a **** about this Club or there own well being.
That's why so many of them when onto better things at York, Mansfield, ect.

(casualty)

Now you're defending Spackman! Well I suppose he had all the badges too. Quality squad building too, in fact quite a lot of parallels with the current regime.
Tip -if you didn't spout so much ***** then I wouldn't bother replying to you.

RE: Now you're defending Spackman! No, I just want to point out that the players we had then found it difficult to adjust to modern methods. Thats why so many of them went to clubs in lower leagues.
As one off them did say to me "we know what we should be doing but we don't want telling every day".

RE: Now you're defending Spackman! or it could be that they were just ****? This sports scientist is unlikey to be full time anyway.
As one off them did say to me "we know what we should be doing but we don't want telling every day" I'm still amazed. You claim to be the world's most knowledgable man on football. You also claim to personally liaise with coaches & pro's. You re-count numerous coaching tales & events. But still you know **** all. That takes real talent. I congratulate you.
RE: As one off them did say to me "we know what we should be doing but we don't want telling every d I am the true master of all truth and knowledge.
ff

Yes you are. That's why you won't touch this with a barge pole: http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=63922&mid=400969#M400969 Uni football. Pfff.
