Players: Townsend superb, very confident. By far the best I've seen from him. Kent had a mixed sort of game. Clearly talented but maybe a bit too lightweight. Payne showed yet again that he is more than capable, could have had another hat-trick. D'Almeida didn't really get a chance to impress but looked quite lively. Everyone else played fairly well. Overall Performance: Looked a class above our League 1 opponents throughout the game which shows how far we've come. I felt we were in full control from 1st min to last. A solid showing. Other thoughts: Peterborough is a lovely place, a good mix of old buildings & modern shops. Stunning cathedral. Leanardo Da-Silva Lopes is 17 years old and was there best player when he came off the bench, gave White the run around. Shame they didn't put us in the nice new away stand which had the grand total of 7 spectators occupying it.
I fear that won't be the last time Aidy White gets given the run around this season - and a league one teenager isn't likely to be the strongest opponent he faces either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I wouldn't say he got given the run around at all. He got beaten once with a lovely piece of skill but still managed to get back and put a tackle in.
Williams was the best defensive fullback at Oakwell since Bobby but I'm more than happy White there a very balanced full back and still only 24/25 but I would have loved to keep Williams as would most of us, but we've moved on now
I thought Aidy played well, without any cover whatsoever from Hammill. I don't think anyone had what I'd call a bad game, but the Bradshaw/Winnall pairing needs to be better. Tom's link up play was dreadful and Sam's finishing has been poor recently. Hourihane was outstanding. Townsend didn't put a foot wrong. I felt Watkins and Payne were brilliant when on, and Roberts was immense. Davies; Yiadom, Roberts, Mawson, White; Watkins, Hourihane, Scowen, Hammill; Winnall/Bradshaw, Payne. That'd be my team based on these meaningless friendlies.
