- Defence worked with Kidd trying the 5 defenders formation with a back 5 of Koz-Reid-Souza-Nya-Werling. Wing backs did ok, but centre halves struggled as it seemed that no one has played in this formation before. Nyatanga had to cover for Reid on a number of occasions. If we play this on Saturday I feel that we will struggle. Its as id SD isn't bold enought to drop one of his 3 centre backs. - Strikers worked on shooting, and some was woeful, some good. Coulson seems to be the best finisher, but in matches, we all know he is not quite ready yet. Christensen was good also. - If the practice match was anything to go by this will be our team on setdi: ----------------------------------------Muller--------------------------- ----------------------Reid------------Souza------------Nyatanga---------- -----Kozluk-------------------------------------------------------------Werling -------------------Ricketts------Johnson-------Howard--------------------- --------------------------Odejayi------------Ferenczi---------------------------
What's happened to Mossto and Christensen? Do you reckon they'll be on the bench? Seems as if Davey is trying to stop the goal influx but with this formation..................!
I'm worried that SD is trying to find ............ ...... a new system so that he doesn't have to drop Reid. He should not be the captain because this means he should be the first name on the team sheet. If the new system does not seem to be working properly in training he should have the balls to drop Reid, play a 4-4-2 with Nyatanga and Souza as centre halves, you can't play a system to accomodate one player, whether he's the captain or not.
Souza looked good against Darlington and won everything. He would definitely start for me and even though he scored Reid needs to be dropped.
RE: I'm worried that SD is trying to find ............ Not a fan of 3 CH's.
None of our CH's seem comfortable defending out by the touchline , which is a common occurence in this system as the oppos drop balls in behind the fullbacks.
If the full backs are going to just sit deep then we could struggle for numbers in midfield.

Thats the impression that I got..... ..Its almost as if Kidd was having to work one to one with Reid in trying to lead him through it. Nyatanga did well, as he has experience of playing full back, so his positional sense was greater, and I'm guessing Souza would have played in a similar formation on the continent. Mossto and Christensen played on the 'B' team, which lined up as: ---------------------------Colgan------------------------------ Meynall-------------Atkinson------Trialist-------------Potter Devaney----------Togwell---------Mattis--------------McCann ------------------Mossto-------------Christensen---------------
A big French lad according to the coal miners who were watching. There was also a trialist on the 'A' team. An Northern Irish lad called Clarke, who played in midfield next to Johnson and Howard.
Careful what you say ! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/norfolk/6949233.stm Seems like Norwich have a group of "coal miners" too
Clarke seemed quite lightweight, but had a good touch, and Desailly at the back didn't really do much, but seemed in the "if in doubt kick it out i'm bigger than you look how big my muscles are" mould. Which might not be a bad thing.
I think we should sign him as a finishing coach or something, like we did with Rush. They're on a par.
It does look that way Seems a strange policy. Its one thing to adapt a system to keep a start player utilised, so you get the best from him To adopt a system to keep a player who is not as good as others in the side just because you want to play him is puzzling to say the least
Strangely enough I think Sheron now plies his trade as a coach somewhere. I suggest a neck brace for their keeper, watching them mitres fly waaaaaaaaaaaay over the training pitch fence. we need another enigma.
