"that three nil home drubbing is likely to see former Deepdale heroes Simon Davey, Ryan Kidd and Kelham O'Hanlon on the dole."

"He seems pretty clueless. I do think he is a poor manager and has already started making excuses."

    "Dead man walking."

"Club in trouble, are Barnsley. Dead-certs for relegation this season."

"The way Davey is making the game out is like we were fortunate to win and apart from the goals it was all Barnsley. You could have been beat by 6 quite easily last night."

Someone listened on Preston local radio then!
Apart from the goals it WAS pretty much all Barnsley. And the only way we could have been beaten by 6 is if every single one of their shots went in instead of only half of them.

I think it's fair to say that goals 1 and especially 3 were scored against the run of play. The first 25 minutes of the second half was dominated by Barnsley and we strung some decent stuff together. Very unlucky not to get one in that period.

    Indeed.

Those things that win matches. Those things we don't score yet allow the opposition score at will.

We utterly dominated possession for a good hour last night but every time Parry came down our left side a goal looked imminent. We wouldn't have scored if we were still playing now.

Toothless at both ends and I see no imminent way that's going to change.

If we had won 3-0 last night, and didn't have much of the play.......

....... we wouldn't be on here saying that Preston had most of the ball and were unlucky to lose 3-0, we would be saying goals win games, **** possession!

Yeah me too. Just the little matter of goals scored being the difference. Big shame that they win games.

Dominate play and have more possession are completely different things.

We didnt dominate Preston in one single area of the pitch last night. If you think we did I'd like to know where?

In the goals conceded area we were all over them. Also in the playing like we haven't got a fecking clue area we dominated.

No, but I'm responding to somebody who thinks ....

......... having a lot of the ball is good even though we can't hit the net and the opposition can - is it too hard for you to understand? Go and have a lie down

No, you're not responding to anyone of the kind Keith. I was countering suggestions that Preston ought to have had 6 and were bossing the game. They weren't and had one of those nights when everything went right for them. If you weren't encouraged by those 25 minutes in the second half when we looked a more potent threat than at any time this season, then you are more interested in sniping at Davey than your team.

No, I'm sorry but I wasn't encouraged by those 25 minutes.....

........ what I can see is that if we play like we did against Coventry and Preston, and like we did for the first 45 minutes at Swilllsbrough, we will be relegated with a record low number of points because scoring none and conceding five at home in two games is not acceptable, regardless of how we played between the goals going in.

PS - I am not 'sniping' at Davey, I am saying that, in my opinion, the guy is not up to the job and hasn't been for most of his tenure. It's only my opinion, and I'm entitled to express it and I'm happy for everybody else to do the same, whether it's the same view as mine or the opposite

You say that but you never seem very tolerant of any view that isn't anti-Davey.

As I've said many times, I'd love SD to prove me wrong......

....... and Odejayi, I want success for BFC as much as everybody else, but it's him that's making the decisions, and a pigs ear of things, not me, I'm just spending a fortune watching the **** that he keeps serving up
