Thoughts on retained list

Not really surprised but kinda mixed feelings.

Totally get all those released except Kelvin, I saw more than enough second half of last season a few games this season that he has the ability to be head and shoulders above most of League 1.

I think we've dropped one here!!! I suspect reasoning is Wilson has no idea on his best position or even what his position is. I think you need utility players and he his a utility player. Successful squads and teams all have players that aren't outstanding at one particular thing but bring a balance and cohesion.

I now realise me and Wilson don't think the same based on this and other things in last few months, that's fine, he's gaffer I'm not. I best get used to it.

I understand Dawson contract, came from this level and knows what it takes to roll sleeves up and get stuck in. Not a goal scorer although I expect a few next term, and not worlds best footballer but I like his attitude, I like his commitment and I like the fact he gets in refs face. Also as some said last night, no where near as bad as some on here would have you believe.

JOB I get, good servant, great attitude and runs blood to water. Should stand out at this level. Have no issues here

Tommy is a funny one but again I get, at times looked a Champ player, other times invisible. Surely if he stays would be miles better in League 1 and could potentially be our goal scoring midfielder and tricky wide man.

Mellis?? I'm not even going there, I'm sorry his name shouldn't be up for discussion I'm afraid. However if he stays and gaffer likes him, I will foolishly 100% back him again, no doubts only to have that faith chucked back in my face.

Rest? Hassell a side which has been dealt with terribly AGAIN, well it was coming wasn't it, no surprises

Other than being utterly staggered that Mellis hasn't been bounced out of the club there are no real surprises (maybe Cywka).

 

That is only a retained list isn't it! We don't know if those offered contracts will accept. Before the last match, I'd heard that Jimbo was off to Blackpool.

Yes we have offered contracts but after hearing what Bobby has said I am wondering whether they will sign them.

 

With the players under contract and the three that have been offered new deals plus the young un's we have a good base squad. Danny now has chance to strengthen in key areas and is in a strong position if anyone comes in for players we're under no pressure to sell.

Season ticket money is in the bank ready for early signings, everything looks organised and setup for Danny to have his squad ready for preseason.
