First half was an absolute disaster. Christ knows what Davey was thinking playing a formation like that. Personally, I'd have him tied to some stocks on the town hall steps until he promises never to use such tactics again. That may sound harsh, but he's got to learn his lesson. The 4 midfield players were stood together on a postage stamp. We had no outlet down the line, no width when attacking and whilst defending Blackpool could easily double up on our full backs. Shocking.

Second half wasn't much better until the introduction of Coulson. Earlier this week I questioned why this lad took to the field at Scnuthorpe ahead of Mostto and Christensen. Shows how much I know. He did more in a ten minute spell than Mostto and Odejayi have done all season. That's what desire is lads. If we continue to play Odejayi and Mostto I reckon they'll both probably get another goal each by the end of the season, two if we're lucky. Coulson definitely deserves his chance in the next game.

In the summer I said that if we play Howard and Togwell as our midfield partnership then we'd struggle, just as we did last season. I stand by that. We desperately need some quality in midfield. Forget trying to buy another forward who can't score, we've got plenty of them. Use that money to get Anderson De Silva from Everton. We're half the team without him.

Letheren did well when he came on. He punched it once when he should have caught it, but Muller does that four or five times a game anyway. What happened to Muller? Did we sell him at half time?

Special mention to Disco Devaney. The worst performance by a substitute I have ever witnessed. He made McCann look good, which doesn't half take some doing.

We won, probably didn't deserve it, but Blackpool only have themselves to blame for not continuing to attack us when we were there for the taking.

A big thank you to Michael Coulson for getting us into the next round.

Agree completely.

I actually didn't go to the game so have no idea what I'm talking about.

Just thought I'd give you some moral support for taking the time to write so much.

I thought mostto showed more today than Odejayi has shown in all of his 16 starts, he had a couple of decent efforts and yes he looked a little off the pace but then again he hasn't started a game in months. Still can't understand why Christensen didn't get at least the last 20 mins, Odejayi not good enough again.

Agree with most of it, but I thought Mostto played well today. Was very unlucky with a left foot shot wide and a header just wide, and showed terrific desire to retrieve Howard's awful corner which lead to the goal, and left Mostto flattened. Linked up play well, and think if he was upfront with a striker who was intelligent enough, he has a good chance of being a good signing. The rest of it is true, particularly the stuff about Devaney - he was woeful!

Honestly thought that was the midfields worst performance ALL season. Our strikers are too scared to shoot, even though it was the best game I have seen them play together?
The manager did speak on our radio station sating that he had tried the diamond formation to try to get other players involved more but stated he will never try it again, he has learned it does not work. Stated that hopefully we should have 2 or three new players by next weeks game as well. Wherever the players may play I honestly think they would come straight into the squad.
Bad game, freezing weather, poor opponents but the right result, could not ask for more.

my thoughts are - letheran did well but i think we need a proven reserve keeper just in case - the ironic thing is the first time in many games we have had a keeper on the bench and we needed him
the defence had the cleanest kits of all the players just shows that we weren't really tackling
coulson looked brilliant when he came on seemed to make the difference
how was mossto man of the match? did stevie wonder pick it?

I thought Odejayi was good today as well, second only to mostto and Coulson

You mustve gone to a complete different game to me

Odejayi was a hundred times better than recent games, admittedly he's still low on confidence, but he won his fair share in the air, ran with the ball and eased pressure when we needed it in the final few minutes. Mostto looks a complete waste of money to me, sorry, I hope Im proved wrong, but yet another game by passes him. One thing I absolutely detest from fooballers is sulking, and at times he was looking to blame anything and everything but himself. Odejayi will improve. Convinced of it.

Agree completely with your thoughts on the game...

but where were your comments on stuff, as an avid collector and cataloguer of stuff I was hoping I had another person to talk to and perhaps do some swapsies.

Togwell..........

Can someone tell him to just tackle and then leave the ball to someone else to pass it.

RE: Predictions on Coulson?

He'll work his way into the team, do well untiul he has a few average games where the supply is poor and he is unable to work his magic. The ***** in the crowd will get on his back, his confidence will drop, the ***** will boo his every move and we'll sell him onto a lower league club who will rebuild him and sell him on to one of our league rivals for a wodge of profit where he will constantly score against us.

Probably.

How the **** can Togwell win the ball and then leave it for someone else to pass it?

I'd be interested in seeing him get the ball to another player without passing it.

You are without doubt the most humorless cold individual I have ever come across.

You must have been so bullied at school, and quite rightly too.
