I am doing a project on fans' views towards the level of violence and corruption in football and I am hoping you could spare a couple of minutes to complete my anonymous online survey: http://www.topfan.co.uk

Thanks in advance for your time.

Is that really a questionnaire with the backing of Staffordshire University?

I'm shocked and appalled if it is. Talk about leading questions. The title for a start: 'Football's Dark Side'? No conclusions already drawn there then.

Then the header: "All sport fans know that major professional sports have hidden vices and football is no different." Do we? Isn't it? Maybe we do, but shouldn't you ask us first rather than tell us what we think?

The first question doesn't give me an option that I'm even remotely comfortable with. I neither think Joao Havelange was a one off nor was he entirely representative of his organization. It's not that I'm not sure, it's that you haven't given me an option for what I really do think. Things are not so black and white for me.

Question 2: "In recent years, gambling scandals involving Accrington and Motherwell showed how all aspects of the professional game are affected by corruption." All aspects? Two instances can be extrapolated to all areas of the game? Since when?

I'm going to stop there before I go mental.

If I had presented that questionnaire with a logo of my University when I attended I would have very likely been shot. I did Attend Nazi University, but still...

    "Appreciate your thoughts Jay"

Good answer. I think you were well within your rights to tell me to **** off. I don't always put forward my views in a very considered manner. I just jump in with two feet. Despite the delivery, I think the points I made are worth considering. That doesn't mean I'm right or you should agree with me or anything should be changed, just considered.

    Apologies for being so harsh.

Done, but as usual, there are more questions than answers. Good luck!

I'm not completing it as I don't think you've put much research into your questions just built them onto the back of a number of media sound bites.

Ok, DEETEE. I'm just interested in what fans think of these areas and use the media sources to provide a bit of context. Thanks again to those who have completed the survey.

If anybody would like to read my dissertation please PM me. 15,000 words about the coal industry during the inter war period. Well, I say 15,000 but I cheated and bunged an extra few thousand in the appendix. There's a cracking bit where I go on about the census figures. Could've been bigger than 50 Shades.
