I've heard it's quite controversial for its sexualisation of a child but I see nothing sexual in the video at all. Ok I see that she's wearing a skin coloured leotard but I don't think that that is even noticeable really. I love the video and think that it is an incredible piece of artwork really and I'm amazed at how talented the girl is
I think it's perhaps a little too far myself though art I guess is meant to challenge and move our conceptions and preconceptions. Like you say as a work of art it is interesting and thought provoking just not something I feel overly comfortable watching myself. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Are you uncomfortable because of the leotard and the fact that it is skin coloured or for some other reason?
I guess I've got a young daughter myself and I wouldn't be particularly happy for her to be presented in that way (in a few years time) and I usually go with if it's not good enough for your daughter than it's not for anyone else's out there. You do worry about the types of people who could be attracted to watching it.
Judging by a few of the comments on the video on youtube I can only imagine who is watching it. Id be interested in seeing the same video but with the leotard black or something like that.
I can only imagine that the leotard colour was chosen deliberately for whatever reason (flog records/provoke debate).
Same here and it's a shame as her performance in the video is exceptional and doesn't need any controversy or anything to make it a good video. The facial expressions, dancing skills and overall acting ability of the girl should be enough. A random fact is that while the video was filmed in sections to enable changes in camera angles there is also a 'one take' version where the camera stays with her and amazingly she doesn't make a single mistake or falter at all.
Completely captivating performance that will unfortunately get lost in sensationalism which is a real shame.
